3.4.26

The Institute for Portfolio Alternatives (IPA) announced that SEC Commissioner Hester M. Peirce and FINRA Chief Legal Officer Robert L.D. Colby will take the main stage at IPASummit 2026 in Washington, D.C., offering perspectives on the regulatory landscape shaping private markets.

As the alternative investments industry continues to expand and evolve, regulatory policy remains central to how new products, structures, and distribution models develop. At IPASummit, Peirce and Colby will share insights on current and emerging policy and regulatory issues influencing the future of alternative investments.

Commissioner Peirce, who was sworn in to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on January 11, 2018, will discuss key developments at the Commission and the broader policy considerations affecting capital formation and investor access.

Colby, as Chief Legal Officer of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), oversees the organization’s rulemaking, interpretive, and corporate legal functions, along with FINRA’s Appellate Office, Office of Financial Innovation, and several regulatory departments. His perspective sits at the center of how regulatory frameworks evolve alongside market innovation.

IPASummit will bring together policymakers and industry leaders in Washington, D.C., for conversations at the intersection of regulation, policy, and business in private markets.
